Briglin Pottery striped fruit bowl 1955

An unusual form for a fruit bowl, with both ends rising to a point. This is early, somber colours – Hand signed – on the base and dated 1955. Unusually it is red clay so they were right when they said ‘mostly’ white clay for this early period. Possibly the usual whit clay was not obtainable or this was cheaper for dome reason.
